He later leads a vital rebel base on a remove ice-planet, working closely with a renowned rebel pilot and prioritizing security and evacuation strategies. His leadership led him to attaining top positions in a new republic, impacting intelligence and state matters. 

Drawn out of retirement by a new crisis, he returns to service.
